Re: Accelerator Pump

I think the fuel level in the bowl, being full to the brim, was a one of. It is now stopping at 0.71 inch from the brim, which seems too low. Anyway, I removed the accelerator pump and tried blowing, using a short tube, back into the outlet. It was free to flow. I think this means that the ball is n...

Re: Setting float height.

Hi Luli, I have measured the distance to the middle of the spray column from the top of the float bowl. It was 0.27 inch. Does that sound about right to you ? If it does sound right, then my float level must be wrong because it leaves the fuel level at 0.71 inch from the top of the float bowl. That ...

Re: Setting float height.

The float bowl is full to the brim but the float valve is working OK (new)
I assume the float bowl is being fed by another path.
Any idea how that can happen ?

Ray

Re: Accelerator Pump

I have disconnected the linkage to the accelerator pump but droplets are still exiting the nozzles when the engine is running. The float bowl is full to the brim but the float valve is working OK. (new) I assume the bowl is being fed by some alternative path. Does anyone know how that might happen ?...

Accelerator Pump

My P3 75 Carburettor is a 30 PAAI_2
Droplets of fuel can be seen exiting the nozzles without touching the accelerator. Does anyone know the most likely cause of that? I would replace the accelerator pump complete but I have not been able to find one. Regards, Ray

Re: Ignition Timing

Hi Graham, were you able to find out where the 'Timing Mark' is on the case ? Also, can you tell me which piston was on the compression stroke when you took that photo ? The reason I ask is that I have two P3 75's and they are each timed differently. One is at the TDC mark when cylinder 1 piston is ...

Re: Vacuum Advance Mechanism components

I have the RSR Manual but I can only find the exploded view of the distributor on Page J4.
This does not show the detail of the parts I mentioned previously.
Please let me know the page number if I have missed the exploded view you are referring to.
