Re: Sump oil filter thread type

Richard
In my earlier email, I wrongly assumed you were talking about a P2 oil filter.
As the part number you've given is different, my earlier information probably becomes irrelevant.
Along with you, I'm interested the comments of other members.
pm sent.

Re: 12 Tourer Rear Springs

Hello Tony I have a 1947 12Tourer and the rear springs that were originally fitted were from the 10HP Saloon. I've just looked in the "12Tourer Supplement" of the clubs "Master Spare Parts List" and its confirmed there. [Years ago a senior members of this club told me that the chassis of the 47/12t ...

Re: Dashboard

. . I agree with Chris' [above] mine was veneered ply too. For my replacement I was able to stain/varnish ordinary ply "off the shelf" from my local timber merchants. When renewing the dashboard on my 47/12 I didn't find any particular problems. Using material of a similar thickness, I drew around t...

Re: 1947 12 Tourer center lamp support

. Hello Steve and all. Three or 4 years ago I had my Bar re-chromed and striped off the old chrome myself beforehand. As Andrew says its made up of 3 brass casings and 2 steel tubes. The brass castings are a tight [interference] fit within (inside) the ends of the tubes. Each tube had 2 holes which ...

Re: Front Spring Orientation - 1946 10 Saloon

Hi Nigel Ive got a, 47 12 Tourer and Im told the chassis is the same as a 10 HP Saloon. I did do a sketch before dismantling a few years ago but have just this minute checked on the car as well. ............... Longest end to the rear. Re: Oil Pump Troubles, 1947 12hp

Hello. P3Steve, luli & all I am trying to cure a knocking ["tonk"] noise that is coming from the pump [or very close to it] This noise has been there for well over 40 years and only occurs at tick over and very low engine speeds. luli, Did you find the shaft diameter to be, 0.0498" and the bush, 0.5...

Post War P2 production quality?

Hello All. In the Manual for these post war P2's it mentions that [due to post war shortages] oversized spockets were made and fitted to compensate for the use of worn timing chains, [see manual page A25] Although my 47/12 doesn't have one of these, I do wonder what other dodgy/cleaver tricks they g...

Re: 1937 Rover 10 Fuel Gauge Readings

Hello. Ray, Paul and All. Ray, In your posting you say. " The oil reading on the gauge still operates as usual " If you are sure of this, its hard to see how the Gauge itself can be faulty. The two [oil & petrol] Senders are electrically similar, so how is it? One sender works but not the other. The...
