At LAST!!!! Rover 10 Special Lives again

After 2 years of a rollercoaster ride, from elation to despair, my 1933 10 special is running like a dream!!! Having had the engine overhauled completely and getting it back together in the car and running, I thought I'd got her sorted but she's been running like a 3 legged dog, with absolutely no p...

Re: Cylinder head commonality

Thanks everyone for replies. Engine is now running after major works. Found a replacement head from Mike Evans which has been fusion welded and refaced. Valves were engineered from singer originals and a new set of studs and rocker shaft spacers were made. I am endebted to Chris Whitehead who remeta...

Re: Pre war headlight bar rubber seals

Thanks Andrew, will add this to the long list of things Mike has/is already supplying!! Don't know why I hadn't tried him for these - guess I'm trying to spread the pain! Must catch up soon, my 10 is very nearly ready to fire up again after major fun and games but Chris has done a fantastic job gett...

Pre war headlight bar rubber seals

Hi all,
Does any one know where I can source the rubber seal that fits over the chrome headlight bar and cover the hole in the wing on per war Rovers?

Mine have given up the ghost and I'm struggling to find any.

Thanks as ever

Re: New member from Suffolk

Gerry, welcome aboard, she looks lovely. Nice to see another local, I'm nearish just over the border in Norfolk with a 1933 10 Special who is just having the finishing touches to some major engine work. Hoping to be out and about in May.

Regards

Ant

Re: 10/25 Nizam

Hi Derek, can you supply more details of your car, ie what year? I have a 1933 10 special which is a very close relative of the earlier 10/25 but I'm not sure what the 2 had in common. However I have a spare g/box out of the car so we may be able to do a photo comparison if that helps. Where abouts ...

Rover 10 Special Valves

Hi All and a happy new year I am in the process of rebuilding my 1933 10 Special Engine and head. In the process I've had alot of help from various Register stalwarts but have failed thus far to find any replacement valves to suit my car. My understanding is that the part number for these is 56045, ...

Rover 10 Special Engine rebuild

Hi folks I have a bit of a puzzle. I'm currently stripping my spare engine in order to rebuild it with repaired head. I'm planning to get the block crack tested before re-assembly. I know that this engine has previously been bored out to 30 thou but with the sump off I've noticed that the roman nume...

Seems to me, albeit as a relative newcomer to this forum, that it exists on tne good will and commeraderie of those taking part. Therefore if you post a question it seems entirely reasonable and sensible to provide feedback if folk are good enough to respond. As a major benifactor of responses made ...

Re: New from the Channel Islands

Robert - welcome aboard I have just got hold of a 1950s (I think) set of books called 'MOTOR REPAIR AND OVERHAULING' Basically it's a 5 volume set of articles relating to various cars of the 1930s-40s as well as looking after major components in general. (Vol 5 is the data sheets). There is alot of ...
