Anybody know if the late Rangie 4-2 manifolds will fit in a P6B engine bay? These are HRC1583 and 1584.
thanks

Make sure you are NOT wearing a watch when you stick your hand behind the dash! BTDT.

Re: what car ??
As an example, I have a 26 9/20 that was 95% restored by another, and I am trying to finish it off - all mechanicals done, apparently well, but needed wiring, trim , glass etc. As soon as I tried to get it moving under its own steam, I found the steering horrendously heavy. Bumped tyre pressures on ...

Re: freewheel P4 75
Put an Overdrive on it. I had a 50 P4 , with a P3 box (floor change), home made cover, and a Laycock overdrive fitted. Absolutely superb! Also a 90 grille!

Re: Speedometer TPM (turns per mile)
See if you can find an instrument repair shop - they can usually tell you TPM for a speedo with a very quick test if its not shown - mine did.

Re: Brakes
With my P2 (16 4light) I found the brake linings required some regular abrasion with emery paper or similar to remove glazing, to keep them effective, so wear a mask for that too. Dont apply compressed air either!

Re: Horrendous vapour lock!!
In my youth I saw vapour lock problems on a P2 and P3 out here in Oz. One easy helpful job was to paint the bottom of the tank silver to reduce heat uptake from the roadway. Personally I favour a pusher pump mounted as close to the tank as possible.

Re: P3 diff.
You would have to have a VERY good engine to pull much more than a P4 4.3 diff IMHO. My memory here is not too good, but the nose length may have changed between the 4.7 and 4.3 complete assemblies, so there might be a tailshaft issue, but it should not be a big issue. My preferred solution would be...

Air Portable
This was my 'Lightweight' when we were in Saudi. 1978 2.25L petrol, originally National Guard, done bugger all miles when I got it from a wrecker. Needed new tyres (Pirelli Scorpion Radials), new soft top, and cork washers in the fuel tank switch. Terrific on rough ground at speed. Wife loved it. So...
