Just sent you a PM as this would be a nice addition to the RSR Post '50 library if it is still available.

Re: Intermittant Cut Out!
I would suspect it to be somethin on the electrical side which is failing / breaking down once warm. I have had similar problems at times and have gone through changing various ignition components in an effort to resolve it. Unfortunately there isn't necessarily any one sngle thing which it has alwa...

Good to see that you have managed to get the picture Stewart, I remember we discussed this some time back.
Hope the run out went well.

Re: Pre & Post 1950 Libraries
Hello Chuck, Sorry for not replying more quickly. As is mentioned earlier in the thread the club has parts lists and workshop manuals available which can be ordered through the club website. The numbers you quote seem to line up OK as a 1946 14 Sports Saloon. Values are always very difficult to asse...

Re: Pilot front axle
Hi Stewart,
Sorry for the delayed response. I've had a look in my 1935 brochure and as has already been suggested Luvax was available on all models for that year. The hydraulic brakes were however only on the 14hp so it would suggest that your axle must be off one of those.
Regards

Re: Engine goes bang
Glad to hear that you have managed to track down the problem and that it looks like it hasn't done any significant damage. I wasn't aware of this plate arrangement so I guess I'll have a look at mine when I next have the carb off.
Hope you manage to get it all back together quite quickly.

Re: Engine goes bang
Very sorry to hear this Steve. I hope you manage to find the problem quickly and that it isn't too serious. Sorry I haven't got any immediate suggestions on identifying / solving the problem. With a bit of luck the compression test will give you a good idea of where to look further ...then it will p...

Re: CSF 57B
Hi Stewart, This was a P4 110 which Dave Phipps from Whitby rebuilt in about 2003. He brought it along to our July rally that year. He subsequently sold it to Simon Bell in Lancaster, who I was in contact with for a while. Sounds like it is probably still living in Lancaster and is being driven how ...

Re: First Bike Meet
Hi Dirk, Well done for getting the award, your son certainly looks really excited!?! Good to see another bicycle in pretty original condition. It looks fairly similar to mine, though the pump seems to be fitted in a different place - do you know what year yours is? The headstock badge on mine seems ...

Re: brake problem
Hello Nicolas, As others have already said it sounds probable that you have a flexi hose problem or sticking seal. In answer to your question on fluid type, you should have no problem using Dot 3 or 4 modern fluid, though I would make sure that you replace all the fluid in the system to ensure that ...
