Re: A day of escape from the garage
I think it will be difficult to stop buying the different Rovers because there are so many variants especially in the 30's. And you are right about the market for classic car sales being dire. But it could make a 16 cheaper! I have just succumbed to buying another project car (non-Rover) where the v...

Re: Engine Stand
Hi Chris I think a fully usable engine stand ie one that you can run up the engine on - is very hard to find in the UK if not impossible. I did identify one in the US but it was expensive and the shipping even more so and not guaranteed either. So I designed one from hollow section steel and spent q...

P2 Rear Seat construction
I am trying to refurbish the squab of my rear seat as it is looking a bit saggy. When I opened up the leather I was surprised to find a honeycomb type foam rubber cushion in there. Does anyone know if this could be original? It seems in fairly good condition but it could have been fitted by the prev...

Re: Rewinding a fuel reserve solenoid
I am now confused when you talk about pressure testing tubes whether you are talking about the fuel sender unit with the main/reserve solenoid and dip pipes etc or the fuel level indicator with the moving arm and float. I have sourced both items (Lucas look alikes) for my P2 on the internet without ...

Re: P1 Steering box refurbishment
On that topic can anyone tell me how much refurbishing a steering box is likely to cost for a '39 14? I may have to do mine also

Re: Starter motor 12 tourer p2
I thought I recognised the description of the symptoms but I could not put my finger on it. The same thing happened to me ie the locking bolt was loose and the bendix wouldnt engage properly. On mine there are 2 fixing bolt holes close to each other and I am not why. Perhaps at some sime in the past...

Re: Not engaging reverse gear
Hi Luli Yes it would ahve been good to be able to see you at the event- I talked to a couple of other people who said the same. Maybe one year? My reg is FXK 546. She may not show in official pictures on the field becasue we were late back from the hill climb and missed the judging but here she is n...
