Re: 1939 P2 Boot construction ?

Many thanks for that. I do have some remnants of metal sheeting as a boot floor, but the ply was beneath the sheeting and above the fuel tank. The wood edgings mentioned. sit on the lower edge of the rear inner wheel arches above the axle. Again these appear to cover rusted areas ! It appears the pr...

1939 P2 Boot construction ?

Hello All. I'm looking for guidance on rebuilding the Boot area of my 12SS. The floor and inner wings are rotten and will be replaced. I have a 6mm thick ply panel between the floor and fuel tank ? Should something like this be here, or was it installed due to the rusty floor. Any advice appreciated...

Re: 40th Anniversary Rally Bressingham, NNROC 24th May 2015

I attended to look at P2 and P3's to gain some knowledge for my P2 SS restoration . Had a good chat with some friendly helpful owners and gained some valuable information.
I was also impressed with the number of P4's present and on display.
A good day !

Re: Suffolk/Norfolk Events

I would like to visit these events. I'm afraid my P2 won't be a runner for a while yet but I would look to ride out in my Triking if weather is good, especially as I live in North Norfolk.

Re: how much paint?

Hi Vince Thanks for your advice. I am working on the doors at present while I await the sill sections. Molasses and water scared me with the wood in the doors so I tried my hot air gun and scraper. It seems to work well considering as I remove the filler it appears the door skin must have been hit b...

Thanks Chris C
Following your advice on earlier posting.
I have contacted Essex Records Office who are able to provide a copy of the original owner etc for HPU 515. Registered in 1939.
Thanks Mark R

Re: how much paint?

I plan on spraying my 12SS after sorting the bodywork. Can people suggest the best approach to getting back to bare metal as I seem to have hideous amounts of filler hiding under my paint which needs sorting. I am undecided on dust and sanders or corrosive chemical cocktails ? Any advice would be ap...
