Rattling horn/advance centre piece?
Afternoon, the centre part of my 1935 14 steering wheel ( with horn button and advance/retard) is loose and rattles about when driving. Is there a bush for it as it’s driving me nuts and holding it still is spoiling the drive. Any suggestions?

Re: Wheel colour
Many thanks. They're currently maroon, but not the same shade as the body, more likely from a previous incarnation. Black would seem to be the factory version then.

Re: 1935 14 rear hub oil seal
Many thanks Mike, mines definitely a 6 spline axle. There was an audible "hiss" when I removed the top filler plug, so it's pressurising.
I'll try the drilled/ tapped / series breather option I think, seems a neat solution.

Re: 1935 14 rear hub oil seal
Well, removed rear seat, no breather apparent, just small square headed plug on top of diff. Would Land Rover one fit?

My offside rear hub appears to have a leaking oil seal, any ideas of price/ availability/ options of alternative model fit items? Cheers, Mark

Re: Temporary engine swap?
I recently converted a Land Rover Lightweight to 4.2 v8 and 5 speed LT77. It wasn't that difficult technically but a lot of little snags that took longer to resolve than anticipated. Please don't think I'm dismissing your ideas, far from it, I would like to keep the straight six, maybe an alternativ...

Re: Temporary engine swap?
Except clutch won't work, propshaft wrong length, custom exhaust required, throttle linkage, fuel pump, hoses, speedo cable drive, axle ratio too low, engine mounts, gearbox mounts.
