Differential Drain plug Seal

My 47 P2 (16) is leaking oil from the drain plug. Obviously the plug and seal need attention but without stating the obvious, before I attend to this “small” job any caution advise from you many experts out there much appreciated. Also what is the correct oil to replace and refill. I have the Castro...

Re: Cross Ply tyres Vs Radial Ply tyres

Many thanks Mike, I can get new cross Ply 17 ex importer from Tauranga NZ, BUT your last comment re tram lining is what I’m trying to avoid. My steering is excellent on smooth tarmac but like Uk our love affair with trucks Vs Rail has made many of our roads uncomfortable and also the large stone chi...

Cross Ply tyres Vs Radial Ply tyres

A recent discussion with other local Rover friends was the subject of Cross Ply tyres Vs Radial Ply for our post war Rovers P2 and P3 plus one chap had a P4. It was generally agreed that cross Ply was best for our cars although one opinion was the radial gave a far better road ride with less steerin...

Thanks again Lula for your assistance. Job completed, yes WD 40 was needed plus angle grinder for frozen nuts. Looks wonderful and the new mats certainly lifts the cars appearance.

Re: Fitting New Rubber Running Bd Mats

Thanks Luli. I glean from your pics that you put your rubbers on with the steel runners off the car. In my situation I’m replacing worn and cracked old runners with new and looking at how the runner frame is bolted to the car I’m a bit loathe to undo bolts not knowing where the fastening nuts are, f...

Rover Cars by V.H Watson

As a relative newby to the Rover Car restoration family any info I can glean is valuable. Recently at an Antique store here in NZ South Island I came across a hard covered book with the given title “Rover Cars” authored by one VH Watson. The book is a comprehensive guide covering all models 1934 to ...

Fuse Amp ratings

Would appreciate advice as to the correct fuse rating for my P2 47. I’ve blown an accessory fuse it was my own fault when putting in a “new old horn” sourced from Mike Coudrey. I replaced with a 3 amp fuse I had but I feel it should be higher. Workshop manual refers to 25 amp rating. Is this correct...
