Re: Vacuum Advance Mechanism components

Have you got the RSR Parts Manual. there's an exploded view in there that should help.

Re: P3 Front Suspension/Steering bushes

Can't help precisely, but my workshop did mine & I don't recall any problems.

Have a look at the engine mounts while you're in there, mine had more cracks than rubber.

Fitting Cyclops twin SUs

I can get hold of the right head, manifold, carburettors etc.

Who's done the conversion? Just wondering about the air cleaner. P4 oil baths alongside the radiator won't fit. Perhaps a P3 filter assembly can be adapted. I'd rather not fit modern pancakes.

Thoughts anyone? TIA.

Re: Electrical oddities

Thanks Tony, No this discrepancy isn't solved. The car's new to me so I don't what's been done & hasn't been done. Clearly the original loom though. Battery is positive earth. Starts easily & seems to be charging. It's in having seatbelts fitted as we speak , when it's back I'll be more confident in...

Electrical oddities

Hi all, Some good advice just now. I have a strange one. Blip the throttle and the ammeter goes well into the negative. I don't know whether it's charging or not. However, turn the headlights on, and they don't dim as the throttle is given the same blip. They stay constant. Any idea what's going on?...

Removing a bootlid handle

Evening all,

My newly acquired P3 is missing the mechanism behind the handle, drivers side.

The wrecker here near Sydney has been unable to remove same from his spares car. His question is:

Is there is a bolt securing the latch assembly to the square shaft/ handle?

Thanks in advance

Reproduction radio

Morning all,

My newly acquired 49 75 has an aerial in front of the drivers door, but no radio.

Can anyone suggest a source for an appropriate radio? I,m thinking repro would be more appropriate, given the creeping rollout of DAB here in Oz. But an original valve type would be great.

TIA
