Re: Engine overhaul

Hello Stewart, Have you thought of asking Coventry Motor Museum who they use for machining etc.? We have been giving them some assistance in terms of suggesting ways forward with their 1909 Rover 15. I have been speaking to Chris in their workshop. It depends what work needs doing on your engine, Co...

Re: Hi fellow roverers!

Hello Pilkie and welcome to the forum, I just saw your post and it is indeed a Rover radiator cap mascot, although to have a detachable shield is unusual. They do turn up on ebay from time to time. and there are a number of reproductions about. I have just looked up http://www.mascot-mania.co.uk/, w...

Re: SU Carb

Quite right about the parts list, but the SU entries relate to the first few 10 and 12 saloons in the 1946 model year. We know that small scale production started at the Clay Lane works in Coventry, late in 1945, with dispatch resuming in December 1945. Interesting to speculate whether the 70 or so ...

Re: SU Carb

From the 1940 season, all Rovers were fitted with Solex carbs. The SU fitted to your car dates from 1939 or earlier. That said, SUs are generally easier to tune than Solexes.

Re: Glass templates for Rover P3 1948

Hello Kartik,

Unfortunately the only identifiable P3 glass in the stores is from the 4 light sports saloon that is different from the 6 light saloon. However I will keep on looking.

Best regards

Re: Rover 14 Sports 4 Light - new member

Hello Nick and welcome. Could it have been a sticky valve that the diesel lubricated a bit? Which front seat is broken? WE may have something to help you in the RSR stores, which are open on Saturday October 20th. The stores are at Table Oak Farm, Table Oak Lane close to Kenilworth (sat nav CV8 1PX)...

That should be an electric clock, rather than a rev counter.

Re: brake problem

Hello Nicolas, I have been looking for Girling reference numbers for the P3 hoses, I know that they are similar to early Series 1 Landrover hoses which have 7/16 inch UNF threaded ends, not the more common thread 3/8 inch UNF on modern hoses. I am sure that one of the 2 suppliers mentioned will be a...
