I am looking for a heater water valve (tap!) Part 214263 (C144)
Is this a proprietary part? If so what is the thread?

Does anyone know what compression readings one should get on a healthy 12hp post war engine?

Re: Suspension setup
Re. Tyres I went for Avon, but only because my wheels are 17inch rims & Blockley don't do them! I had Blockley (19 inch) on a 1929 Austin Seven and they were very good. I had them fitted at Blockley and they were very good too. Correct balancing equipment as well, asonably priced.I recall (2019) I li...

Re: P3 75 carburetor
Not many P3's to the square mile over there! BUT I saw one advertised in Hemmings recently...a LHD originally exported to Canada for sale in Georgia for $18,000. My guess is that your carburettor was probably fitted as a "nearest available" by a PO. I don't know enough about carburettors to know whe...

Re: P3 75 carburetor
There is a wealth of good information on the 30 FAI, 30 PAAI and 30FAAI/FFIA in the P2 Workshop manual. This includes extracts from the Solex trade leaflet on tuning, troubleshooting etc. The P2 Workshop Manual Chart refers also to the P3 60 being fitted with Solex 32PB1-2 #S1491 and the P3 75 with ...

Stevson Motors in Birmingham may have seals/bearings for the Luvax horizontals. They may be at the Resto Show. I sold Derek loads of N.O.S. Luvax etc in the 80's. He was repairing them then & is still in business, so they must have worked! I think his daughter runs the business now

Re: Petrol Tank sender unit
My sender worked, but the float was (very) porous. I bought a plastic mini etc type float and it was NOT compatible without butchering the original arm. A kind friend soldered up my original float (and soldered it to the arm). Result! This year's plan is to get the reserve tube etc working....I have...

Re: P3 75 carburetor
Have you looked on the Burlen website ( they also do SU...I think their SU website will link to their Solex pages) https://burlen.co.uk/?___store=default The P3 60 had an SU The Solex should have another identifying number stamped, not cast, on the body somewhere I think. (this would identify it as ...

Now we know! What an amazing resource is at our fingertips! You just gave to know where to start! Is it not a reminder about engine speeds on the pre war era that the rev counters in the catalogue only went up to 4000 in most instances
