New boy - if only!
Well here I am - finally got round to joining the forum. Freewheel 400 arrived this morning - brilliant as usual and what a great idea to include a copy of issue No.1. Surely, Les Bentley's introduction to the RSR is just as appropriate now as it was 67 years ago. Interesting to see how publishing t...

Re: WANTED 1937 Fourteen steering parts
It got out sunny so I've been to the garage. Found a pair of stub-axle assemblies complete with hubs so my arms have grown a bit - should have taken paper, pencil and wirebrush with me! Anyway, interesting results - the left is marked 212518, has the external oil feed pipe from the king-pin and blan...

Re: WANTED 1937 Fourteen steering parts
Interesting - I've got a 1946 12s (I think) drop arm (40461) which is marked 2R/2M with III under the M, so similar to yours and perhaps refering to an earlier stage of manufacture as you say. I assume the different part numbers for 1947 track rod levers are due to the revised oiling system rather t...

Re: WANTED 1937 Fourteen steering parts
Hi Eric The track rod levers 41336 & 41340 are used on the 12hp up to 1946 according to the 39-47 parts list. I've just had a look at a pair of 1947 arrms (212517 & 212518) - the left is marked 212518S but the right is marked something like 5030. So I'm not sure that absence of the finished part num...

Re: Why and how to increase the castor angle
An interesting idea - I've checked the geometry of my car and it's all OK according to spec. But it still feels rather "insecure" on the road, although that might be due to my advancing years rather than the car's. As well as the T series cars MG also produced the VA/SA/WA saloon cars in the late 19...

Re: Len Cottam
Hello. Len I've also looked at the 12 you mention - window shopping on ebay is one of my favourite passtimes! First thing to mention is that 1947 cars have many detail differences to 1946 and earlier models. A couple of striking things with this one:- it has a pre-war instrument panel (curved glass ...
