Re: 47 Tourer found in the USA

Hi Dirk,
Well I really don't know how you manage to do it, but you seem to have stumbled onto another great find. Well done for taking it on. Look forward to hearing more once you manage to retrieve the car.
Regards

Re: Rover Maestro Van & Rover 600 GSDi & 800si

Hi Caroline, Welcome to the Forum. It is good to hear of someone enjoying the Rhonda era Rovers. It seems the 600 is starting to get a small following now. I used to run an 827 Sterling for a while, so can understand your comments about the space in the 800. When I bought the 827 I did briefly look ...

Re: Carb problems again

I haven't tried to clean my filter at all. I know using paraffin was the usual way to clean an oil bath filter but I have no idea about the one on the P3. Sorry can't be of any help on this one.

Re: Hello everyone.Who can help to recognize engine in my P3

Sorry to cast doubt over the diagnosis so far, but I suspect it to be a Land Rover engine, though it is difficult to be certain from the photos. The proof will be in the material the head is made from. If it is an alloy head it will be from a P4 60. If it a cast iron head then it will be from a land...

Re: Rover Bicycle seat

Hi Dirk, Happy New Year. I have a late gents cycle probably from either 1923 or 24 and it was fitted with a Brookes saddle when I got it - I'm almost certain that this was the original. The leather was in quite poor condition so I have replaced it with a new Brookes saddle - I was able to get one wh...

Re: Carb problems again

Hi Steve, Sorry that you are still having trouble with the carb. Like Stewart I still run the original carb on my P3 and have had little trouble, but that of course doesn't help you. As Stewart has mentioned a twin carb conversion can be achieved by fitting an early P4 75 head and carbs. It needs to...

Re: Another P3

Hi Neil, I hope that the info which Paul has already pointed you towards will help with your carb issue. There is info about the carb in the P3 Workshop manual published by the RSR, though I suspect most of it is also on the link. I assume that you have checked that the choke isn't still operating o...

Hi Dirk,
Sounds like you celebrated in style there. Good to hear that you have managed to get the 1910 vehicle out onto the road.

Re: Hi from Fife

Hi Welcome to the forum. I've replied to your question in the other thread that you have started, but as a quick response here I don't believe the story and would be extremely cautious about this car. Let us know how you get on with your potential purchase.

Re: buying rover 25 sei 1.4

Doesn't sound right to me. I've never heard that MG Rover ever did that. I don't have direct experience of the 25 but both my 75's have always been blue, never any hint of silver pain on them. Our MG TF is the same, no hint of having ever been silver. I think you are being told a porky on that one. ...
