Re: 9/20 information
Back again, with car stashed in the garage. Bonus - it came with a standing Viking mascot! Just need to make a spear and its perfect. Have a Brass radiator cap that statue fits on and looks terrific. Main issues are the internal flooring, toe board and wiring. I have wiring diagram, so thats doable....

Re: 9/20 information
Mike, Thanks. Inspection shows the car has a Smiths Carb on it, so you are correct. Fortunately the seller has some excellent original documentation - Use and Maintenance Manual, a Parts Book, and some wiring diagrams, so I should be able to reconstruct all the missing bits, and be able to get every...

Hopefully about to acquire a 1926 9/20 2 door with dicky seat, based on photos only so far. Partly restored, appears everything is present. Is there any information on these available please? There is a 12 page factory book on books.google (search for "9/20 H.P. Rover car"), but I cant work out how ...

Re: p3 75 temperature problem.
On simple ignition systems like the P3, my general timing method is to advance until it just pings under load, then back a touch. Use the highest octane fuel you can, as these will tolerate more advance and give more power, but be careful if you have to drop back to poor fuel . You may have to adjus...

Re: p3 75 temperature problem.
The other cause of undue heat while under load can be retarded ignition timing. As a general rule, overheating while idling but OK temp when moving is caused by poor air flow idling; bad temp while moving is poor water flow - pump or radiator.

Re: Brake Conversion
I had a 47 16hp (with the same mechanical brakes)for a few years early in my motoring time. At some stage the brakes needed attention , and I found that once the operating mechanism in the drum was cleaned and lubricated, and all the clevises and pins were adjusted properly (replaced where necessary...

Re: Fuel Vapourisation
I recall vapour lock issues MANY years ago in our 16 and P3s - not surprising in Oz! Best solution is to have the pump at or in the tank, so there is no or very little suction pipework. Another easy thing to do is paint the bottom of the tank (where it cant be seen) silver or white, to reflect as mu...
