Hi, If you take off the rear hub cap and the halfshaft has a thread and nut on the end
then its definitely a 6 spline fitting halfshaft to diff.
ps. Im looking for another P4 3.9 diff. if anybody's selling one.
thanks Jeff.

Hi, It sounds like your spare is a later diff. check your early diff. the top bolt hole will be at 12 o'clock, and approx. 10½" flange to flange The later diffs. and axles have the top bolt hole a whisker before at 2 minutes to 12. and are approx. 9-1/8" flange to flange. If it wont fit your car 4.8...

Hi, If you count the number of teeth on the crown wheel / 47 teeth = 14hp 5.22-1 OR 44 teeth = 12hp. and speed14 4.88 TO 1.
cheers Jeff.

Re: Mph per 1000 of 1935 14?
Hi, the diff. casing is very different to the post war models, there a few company's rebuilding landy diffs. Perhaps with a little engineering work one of these could fit an up rated crown wheel & pinion to your diff. It would be interesting if someone could do this, but I intend upgrading my 37 20h...

Re: Opinions please
I've been watching this car on eBay there were lots more photographs, it finished a couple of days ago, don't know if it sold. Apart from the terrible home made air filter pipe the car looks a Bute. Prices are very different for different models and condition, this one looks really good but if I was...

Re: Mph per 1000 of 1935 14?
Hi, the diffs after the war up to p5s and early 4x4 with 10 splines are interchangeable. The only Straight Swop option for your 1935 6 spline 5.2 diff. would be a 4.88 6 spline out of a 12hp (there's one on eBay) On my 1936 14hp (rod brakes) I changed the axle for a 1946 10hp then fitted a P4 diff. ...

Hi, I've had a few of this model, unfortunately the very low 5.2 rear diff. and 17" wheels at 1000 rpm gives you little more than a brisk walking pace. I my opinion the same year 12 hp model is a livelier drive. fitting a higher ratio diff. makes the car 100% better, I used a 4.3 P4 one. cheers Jeff...

Re: Odd rear wings on p3
Hi Steve,
Only the P2 10hp wings were similar to the P3s perhaps its one of these
All other P2s had a 3/4" bead pressed round the edge of the wing.
The large slot holes in the wings give quite a lot of in/out adjustment.
cheers Jeff.

Re: Newbie in Herts
Hi and welcome to the RSR website. Your car looks a great very original example, I've had a few of these models over the years saloons & sports. If your wondering about the kink in the hose to the thermostat its because these are prone to rot & yours has been replaced with one off a 4 cylinder model...

Hi,
Perhaps the flywheel has been off at some time and refitted 180 deg. out.
