Are the head bolts in a 1947 1450cc high tensile ,as ordinary mild steel bolts will shear

Thanks Luli, I noticed that the holes in the rocker shaft are at 9 o`clock which I can alter to 7 pm .The hole in the actual tappet is at 3 o`clock is this right. I would have thought they should line up. As I said this isn`t my car ,I`m overhauling the head for a friends car so Im not familiar with...

As regards to the rocker shaft does it have to be fitted ,yo align oil feed holes in a certain position Len

I may have got the tappet setting amount wrong ,but any advice please. Also when fitting the rocker assembly back on the head I believe the shaft should be in a certain position Is this correct Len

I will be fitting the head back onto my friends P2 soon What is the correct tappet setting ,it says 5 thou when warm ,but what when cold.Alao is 5 thou still the best setting when warm Len

Morning I have finally narrowed the problem down to just one inlet valve .When it arrived I gave it a slight grinding in to clean it,but the pitting on the seal,was so bad it would be impossible,to get it to seal .So Im waiting,to see what the supplier says .One day I will be able to continue my own...

HYello ,if you tighten from the centre out going criss cross you cant go wrong ,also tighten in steps from 10 Lbs up in 5 Lbs up to correct amount Then recheck after 250 miles it isnt that critical if you tighten as said Len

Which is the best company to buy cyl head valves from I know there are a couple the club recommends but the one has high prices Len
