Thermoflex seal

I know it's a long shot but does anyone have a thermoflex seal for a Rover 12 (1946) water pump?

Re: Removing rocker shaft

Hello Tony,

Thank you for the tips. There are indeed pegs as you describe so I will do as you suggest.

Regards,

John

Mike Evans doesn't have any but will try asking Mike Couldry. Thank you very much for your advice. Much appreciated.

Removing rocker shaft

I'm trying to remove the cylinder head of my 1946 Rover 12 and have got to the point where the manual says "lift" the rocker shaft. Only problem is, it won't move a at all. There is a little bit of free play in the first (radiator end) bracket but otherwise it's absolutely solid. I've soaked everyth...

Re: Dismantling Rover 12 water pump

Thank you Luli. I managed to get the seal off in the end. The edge of the carbon base is slightly chipped but otherwise it is intact so I am hoping I'll be able to use it when I put the pump back together as I have been unable to find a replacement.

Dismantling Rover 12 water pump

I'm in the process of dismantling the water pump on my 1946 Rover 12. I've got to the point where the service manual says "lift out the Thermoflex seal" but I can't shift it. It rotates reasonably freely on the spindle but will not come off it and I'm wary of damaging the seal by applying too much f...

Re: New Rover 12 owner

Hello Tony, Many thanks for your message. This is really helpful information for a novice like me and makes me feel more confident about investigating the problems I described. The water pump is not too noisy but there is a leak somewhere and it sounds like it might be the worn seal scenario you des...

Re: New Rover 12 owner

Hello Mike,

Thank you very much. I inherited a manual from the previous owner so will take a look at the procedure for replacing the bearings and get started on that as soon as possible. And I will check the gearbox oil level as you advise.

Regards,

John
