Re: Control box

I mentioned volt meter in the last post but I was working off the dash mounted ammeter but as I've not had a lot of time today after work I settled for cleaning the terminals with WD 40 and fine emery paper as you suggested and it dose seem to be a bit better on tick over it reads just under the zer...

Control box

Looks like the control box on my P3 Rover is playing up on tick over it shows about 10 to 11 volts but as soon as the revs go up it jumps up to 20+ volts and when it returns to tick over the volt meter sticks at 20+ volts for two to three seconds then drops down to 10 to 11 volts again, any one know...

Re: Passed roadworthy - a reregistered P3 on the road

The extra wood on the dash is comon to the 1949 P3s I'm not sure of the exact change over time but your would be right for the 1948 P3 model.

Re: Torque wrench settings

Hi Neil, I see what you mean I've just been through my manuals (the ones done by the RSR) and there seems to be no information for any of the big end or main bearing torque settings I guess you could relist the question on the P4 page as the engine's should be about the same for the early P4s so tha...

Re: paint for firewall of P3

Hi Adrian my P3 is fairly original under the bonnet and the back engine bay baulk head has the ripple effect like a sprayed on under seal, the underside and side panels are a plain sprayed black finish. I have seen a P3 with a smooth finish to the baulk head but this was on a restored car so was mos...
