Rover 10/25 Owners Handbook

Post by Stuart7 » Sun Aug 20, 2017 3:35 pm

Hi All.
I have just joined the forum after inheriting ownership of my fathers 1929 Rover 10/25. I am looking for a handbook for the car, I do have a 1931 version but it would be nice to have the older one if one exists.
I have scanned my 1931 version and here is a link to the pdf file that you are welcome to download.

Perhaps someone with an earlier version could scan and upload theirs or lend it to me so I can scan it and create the pdf file and share it back on the forum. Obviously it would be looked after and securely returned. Perhaps we could create a data base of handbooks?
Also on the link above is a nice pic of the car as I couldn't work out how to add a photo to this post, :-)
Thanks for your help,
Stuart.

Thanks Stewart. Off to the pub in it when the heat cools down a bit, :-)

Hi.
I now have 3 versions of the manual. The 1929 one is a bit scruffy but ok. Here is a link to all 3 pdf files (April 1929, March 1931, April 1931) which can be downloaded.

Stuart
I am a relatively new 10/25 owner, also from 1929 (a sportsmans coupe). I wrote to your father shortly before he passed away, unfortunately he wasn't well enough to talk, but I had a couple of nice conversations with your mother about the cars.
As well as the 1929 handbook for my car, I also have a 1930 version which I can copy.
One question I Do have is, dies your car still run its AMAL carb? I couldn't get mine to run properly so have switched to an SU for now.
I am trying to get my car ready to take part in the VSCC's Light Car rally at Snetterton next month (as its qui close to me) this is a bit of a challenge as I have just discovered a dripping core plug in the cylinder head!
Colin.

Hi Stuart,
I am a relatively new 10/25 owner (1929 Sportsmans Coupe). I wrote to your father early last year, sadly he was not well enough to talk to me, but I had a couple of good conversations with your mother. I had hoped to catch up with you all at a rally in Essex your mother said you were attending, but unfortunately I was unable to attend.

I have 1929 and 1932 handbooks only, I also have a poor copy of the parts list for the 1929 cars.

I hope to get involved in the LCES rally based art he VSCC Snetterton meeting next month as it's just up the road from me, unfortunately though I have a leaking core plug in the cylinder head - these are screw in plugs, but mine has been repaired with a knock in plug poorly soldered!

If needed I will try and copy the parts list.

Colin

Hi Colin.
Sorry I missed your messages some time ago. Hope you cured the leaking core plug. The Rover is in bits at the moment as it has a water leak from the head gasket. Hopefully going back together soon.
Regards,
Stuart.

Note that P19 of the middle file in dropbox is missing. All useful just the same.
