Hi, Just joined this forum and hope you can give me some of your knowledge regarding the 16/50 you have.
Before I commit to the purchase of one that is for sale in Victoria Australia.
I'm no Stanger to this marque as I was a member of R.S.R. U.K back in the late 60s while owning 2 1936 14s
one family saloon and a very smart sports saloon along with a string of Jaguars. I have been toolmaking
for the past 55 years and very competent in making obsolete parts. I am restoring a 1913 Siddeley Deasy
at present and have just let go of my beautiful Delage D,I,Saloon so there is a vacant space awaiting in
my workshop. The 16/50 in question is stripped down to a rolling chassis but the saloon frame is intact
and in good order, engine, gear box, rear end all seem to be intact judging by some photos I've viewed on

the Aust Rover Club site. I would be interested to know of any points to look out for on this model

especially the rather complex engine ( valve timing in particular ). Hope you can send some phots for me

to view...……….Regards...….Alan

The 16/50 and 14/45 are quite rare. There are 4 in Australia, 2 in NZ, 2 in USA and 4 in the UK. I've not seen the Catford car in the flesh but have seen photos and received reports of it. I understand there is a considerable amount of spares with the car including a poor chassis frame and axles. As to its completeness you'll have to check but I see no reason why it should not be.
There is a considerable amount of expertise on the model, one has recently been completely rebuilt in the UK, while others are currently under restoration in NZ, Uk, USA and Australia. I can put you in contact with the Australian specialist if you pm me. The NZ car is a saloon like the Catford car which has an Aussie built (by Smith & Waddington?) body, this body believed to be a copy of the UK saloon body.
(I might add I have one myself and have seen 7 of the surviving cars).

Holly
I have replied to your 16/50 enquiry yet can't see it here. I have also messaged you directly and put you in contact with local (Australian) 16/50 experts. Can you please confirm that you have received messages from me.

Mike,
Have just managed to see your posts, sorry for the delay, the reason is a change of ph number, not sure if i can give it to you on this forum
perhaps you can advise, would enjoy speaking to someone in Aus to discuss this model, can you post any photos you have of your car on this site.
Many thanks...........Alan

Hi Alan, sorry for the delay in replying, I've not been on the forum for a while. I have hundreds of photos and I think I know of all the cars world-wide. Are you thinking of buying the ex-Tim Catford car?
