Air Filter

Post by MacKellaich » Thu Jul 08, 2010 8:54 pm

I would like to clean ( if thats possible) the air filter on my 1935 12, I have in the past submerged it in a bath of parafin and then after allowing it to dry in the air, blown it through, is this sufficent, I do remember someone in Freewheel "prising" off the end of one which if I remember was held by about six "lips" but my one appears to be soldered firmly all the way around. Any comments or suggestions? I have thought of replacing it with a pancake like in a 14 for running, is this possible, and how does the 14 solve the breather pipe? Porobably dumb question?
