Sills,step brackets

Planning to fit new sills to my 1947 10hp very soon. I think I've got everything. One query - the parts book says the step bracket to chassis bolts should be 5/16 x 7/8. I couldn't find that size exactly. Can anyone tell me if 5/16 x 1in would be close enough, or too big? I could always grind 1/8in if needs be off each but if 1in. will do happy days.
