Fuse Amp ratings

Post by MichaelKeay » Mon Oct 08, 2018 5:53 am

Would appreciate advice as to the correct fuse rating for my P2 47. I’ve blown an accessory fuse it was my own fault when putting in a “new old horn” sourced from Mike Coudrey. I replaced with a 3 amp fuse I had but I feel it should be higher. Workshop manual refers to 25 amp rating. Is this correct?

Mike P2 47.

Watch the wiring schematic here: https://lulisml.files.wordpress.com/201 ... matic1.jpg. From your description it follows that the blown fuse is the accessories fuse. They include horn (10A), trafficator (3A), brakes light (2.5A), reverse light (2A), and windscreen wiper motor (3A) and heater (3A) In rare condition they can all work simultaneously. Therefore the required fuse is at least 25 A slow blow. By switching to leds instead of incandescent bulbs you can reduce this value. See more here: https://wp.me/pXLKy-16w
