Inside the door reveals, underneath the timber top section(roof), mine has a line of staples running along which look like the were fixing something long departed, like a seal maybe, should there be something there? it can't be the draught excluders as these are fixed to the the inner vertical face, any ideas.

Hi Kev, It's been a while since I had my prewar Rover but perhaps it was holding interior edge piping to finish the edge between the wood and the trim? hope this helps

Different to my P2 so i couldn’t really say. However, I doubt staples were originally used so this must have been a more recent refurbishment. Could it have been where the headlining was held in with a trim strip fixed over the top? Hopefully, a member with a P1 will put us right on this.

Martrim are a good supplier of trim parts. Also it would be worth checking out Vintage Supplies. They do many useful bits suitable for your car.

I have been trying without success to find a completed car at one of the shows to see what I should be aiming for, a sort of reference, but thinking about it who is to say any completed ones are to original spec?

I am coming to the conclusion that there is no "right" way or "wrong" way of doing some things with these old cars as there is very little to compare with, is it a case of "it looks right therefore it is right"?
