Im helping to repair a friends Rover,on which three of the pushrods have been slightly bent We are at the stage where the head can be lifted off to see whether any other damaged has happened .The car is which is immaculate ,is hardly used which isnt a good thing and Im hoping its a case of sticky valves causing the bent pushrods .Once the head is off and without removing the front timing cover,what is the most accurate way of checking that the pistons and valve timing are correct to each other.For instance,when number i piston is at TDC what can I check on the cam followers to see which ones have reached their highest point .Ive been told it is unlikely,that the timing chain has slipped, but I need to check everything while the engine is down Len
