Going to have another attempt to try to remove the head ,after the weekend .Is it best to use a blowlamp to heat the head while hitting it,or a heat gun used for paint strpping Len

Len,

Hard to say, given that none of us have had a cylinder head so hard to remove. I would use a blow lamp so that the heat can be focussed on the join/gasket. However, make sure that all fuel pipes and wiring are out of the way so there is no chance of setting fire to the engine bay!

Have you tried pouring a mix of acetone/ATF fluid or diesel/ATF fluid in around each stud hole and allow it to penetrate

Hello Ive poured penetrating oil round the small stud at the nearside corner of the block.This is the only head stud left Len
