Hello ,Ive managed to free all of the valves in the cyl head of my friends Rover and I`ve ground all the valves in .Ive just fitted the first two valves back ,with their springs and filled the chamber with petrol which lasted overnight so they`ve been ground in OK .The trouble seems to have been caused buy partly blocked waterways in the head, which Ive cleaned ..However Ill have to see if the connecting water passages are also clear in the block This is a typical case of a car being left to stand with no antifreeze in it Even in his garage, antifreeze would have helped keep waterways clearer But as I mentioned earlier he has covered 359 miles in 11 years Shame not to use a car which is immaculate.Len

Morning I have finally narrowed the problem down to just one inlet valve .When it arrived I gave it a slight grinding in to clean it,but the pitting on the seal, was so bad it would be impossible,to get it to seal .So Im waiting,to see what the supplier says .One day I will be able to continue my own restoration Len
