Late to the party here, but my recollection of a P2 or P3 in the 50s was that tyre pressures (on crossplies) were a choice between factory for ride(and short life), and life (and HARD ride). I would go for radials for sure. Dont Series Landys use 600-16s - I had radial Pirelli Scorpions on my Lightweight and they were great.
