Sump oil filter thread type

Post by lanmog » Tue Aug 28, 2018 11:49 pm

Good Evening,

Here's a technical question. What is the thread in the sump to take the oil filter? I believe it is 1 3/4" x 16TPI and is an 'old' Copper Tube Thread form?

Regards

Richard

Hi Richard
Whats the Part No. for the oil filter you are interested in?
I have a P2 filter in front of me.
Thread 1and11/16" o.d. [exactly: 1.682" o.d. on male thread]
16 tpi
55 deg. thread angle [ie imperial thread]

Rod,

It's part no. 09071. Somebody else has told me its 1.75" x 16TPI which makes it either:-

1. American ANFF
2. American SAE Extra Fine
3. ISO 16UN

As far as I can determine I just wondered if anybody had a definitive answer as I thought somebody must have tried to recover the thread at some time?

Regards

Richard

Richard
In my earlier email, I wrongly assumed you were talking about a P2 oil filter.
As the part number you've given is different, my earlier information probably becomes irrelevant.
Along with you, I'm interested the comments of other members.
pm sent.
