Looks like it could be for a screen washer bottle

That make sens. I was thinking how looks like this bootle. just find out another piece of some equipment with good know what is it for . Any ideas::

Not really a good view from that angle Patrick but it looks similar to a PCL airline connector

Sorry I ma not mechanic, just try to find out stuff with can find in manual or others books

I'll go with the washer bottle - good idea to fit it down near the exhaust as the heat from this would stop it freezing but the take off valve maybe some one fitted a vacuum meter of some sort to see what the engine was drawing? or maybe it was to operate the washers in some way didnt ford use a vacuum system?
