Can anyone suggest a supplier of new or good parts for a Series 1 Rover 800 in the UK? I am looking for a tailgate seal for my 1991 Rover 827 Vitesse, though I imagine it is exactly the same on all the fastbacks, at least the early ones.
I have drawn a blank in New Zealand, no -one stocks parts for the early 800's.
Mine has got torn by a previous owner dragging something heavy over it, and now lets in exhaust fumes which is very unpleasant unless I have the windows open.
Any suggestions welcomes.

All fastback seals will be the same regardless of the age of the car. Rimmer Brothers may do them but I generally expect them to be expensive.

Car Builder Solutions also stock universal seals: http://www.nfauto.co.uk/ - look under "trim".

Many thanks for everyone who came up with ideas, however it was my son who made the ultimately successful suggestion, "Why not turn it round?"
It pulled off easily, and was still really flexible enough to wind around the bends, so starting from the top of the hatch, by the high level brake light, I carefully, and without stretching it, placed it on the metal edging. Fitting exactly,as it should, it was just a matter of pushing it firmly home.
I now have a silent, and exhaust proof seal on the back of my car, with nice flexible and unworn section at the bottom.
Saved myself a small fortune in buying a new seal and more importantly almost as much again in postage to New Zealand.
Now why didn't I think of that?
