Rover 100 1.4 Gta (Metro)

Last weekend we were at the outlaws in North Wales.
There Grandma's Rover 100 Gta came in for some serious treatment by young Joe. [N-plate 1.4 8 valve Spi: 75 bhp - accident recovered - keyed all round.]
Seized driver's side central locking actuation was all removed [door card off etc.etc.] , WD40'd; and rebuilt / replaced - so that now the lock button actuates with the central locking. Also transiently my Mrs when returning in the vehicle, had detached the handle from the lock mechanism while we were testing what was wrong ... easily fixed along the way..
Then the rear tail gate closure staple was fixed in the correct position... Grandpa was delighted.
But so was I when we went for a drive; we stormed out of Deganwy, through Conwy town walls and up the Sychnant pass and down into Dwygyfylchi.
Full tilt - red line in intermediate gears... indicated 85+ in 3rd on the A55T returning.
Oh! did I mention 360 cornering on roundabouts at Joe's instigation - Oh! so flat level cornering too.
We whooped with joy and delight: and now both Joe and I want a Metro!!! Never had so much fun in a small car in years: there's something very immediate about cars which pass on engine transmission noise and give good road feedback. On EBay now they're 10 years old mostly they seem to go for peanuts.
Sorry no pix at the moment...
