According to the RSR pre 1950 archive database it is a 1905 6hp with chassis no 504 and with Reg no IK 173 which according to the current vendor can be reclaimed from the DVLA??.
I also have a note from Mike Evans records that at some stage it may have been in the ownership of the Rover Co., but no mention of dates.

Regards and seasons greetings to all.
Andrew

Hi, I am the lucky? person to have bought this car. I hope to start work on it soon, but have to sell one of my Austin 7's to make room for it in the garage. If anyone has any more information on this car, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

Hi Lance,

What sort of work is needed? Does the engine turn over? The car certainly looks like the 100 Guineas model - wooden scuttle and wire wheels, as opposed to the de luxe model. An example of the de-luxe model is at Gaydon, where it is the "experience" car and younger visitors are free to crawl all over it! There has been a great deal recently in Freewheel, the RSR magazine, about the Rover 6

Best regards
Mike Maher

Hi Mike,

Yes, I think it is the 100 guinea model from pictures I have seen. The engine is free and looks well oiled but according to the previous owner has not run for many years. The water pump is missing as is the fan pedestal and fan blade. The rest of the car looks pretty original, although it has been repainted a few times. I think it may have been dark green originally. When I've got a space sorted out in the garage within the next month, I shall have a proper inspection and report back. Thanks.

Hi, I just wanted to let the forum know that I have had some very helpful information about the 6hp Rover from several kind people. One of them is Jason O'Shaughnessy in Ireland who has helped with the history of the car and is very knowledgeable on Irish registration records.

All the best,
Lance Sheldrick.

Hi Lance,
glad you are finding out about your car. If you haven't seen it yet on the RSR web site, there is a gathering of Rover 6s and 8s as part of our National Rally weekend.

More details here http://thersr.org/wp/wp-content/uploads ... -event.pdf
