Insurance claims on pre 60's vehicles

Post by Tangoman » Wed May 22, 2013 1:04 am

A cautionary tale.
An aquaintance of mine recently had his pre 60's motorcycle stolen. He made a claim through his insurers. They will only pay out at the scrap value for his bike. The reason, he can't prove it was in a good road worthy condition because it hadn't got a MOT!!!!

IF he had an agreed value with the insurance company he would have received the agreed value

I've no idea if he had or not. It does however make the case to get an agreed value.
