I stand corrected then but the hydraulic actuated jack is shown/referred to in contemporary road tests - at least I now now my easy and reliable screw jack was the standard offering which workes far better and easier than the side jacks fitted to P4/P5 of either design but the these are heavier cars

Thanks guys! What a great set of replies. Really informative. I can see I will have to do a lot more research
to move this forward. Does anyone have any ideas where to start. How about Motor museums or the British Library. I need to have a look at Workshop manuals or Photos to research this subject of removable bodies
to reveal chassis and servicing points. Thanks very much so far . Gill
