My sender worked, but the float was (very) porous. I bought a plastic mini etc type float and it was NOT compatible without butchering the original arm. A kind friend soldered up my original float (and soldered it to the arm). Result!
This year's plan is to get the reserve tube etc working....I have the bits now.

Awesome thank you for the reply. Im pretty sure I am going to be needing to go down that road someday soon. I'm across the pond so vintage British cars and parts are rare.
