Firstly let me explain - I'm not completely Ofay with the Internet. Hence my delay in replying. I'm going to get my PA to do all my typing!
Yes the Car is a Tourer I beleive (1922) Clegg design I understand currently nearly completely restored and up to date. I was lucky to have had all the old material to follow! - Leather seats etc. I am hoping to have it ready by March 2018 in time for our National Rover Gathering - I beleive this year it will a combined celebration with the LandRover Anniversary this year.
As time goes by I will forward photos etc!
I am interested in and hope the Forum may be able to help:

A: How many are still in existance? and How many were made in any particular year? Is this information available?

B: What I am immediately in need of is a complete wiring loom (with possibly extra wire for Indicators etc) - Can anybody help? Off the shelf would be good! Where and How much?
I can get one made in Christchurch by a nephew but he hasnt access to the black and white cotton braid.

I see Price list for year (1922) lists the Tourer and Limousine Coupe. Did they make the Tourer and export complete or what I call K.D. basis?
This car of mine looks to me as if it was an Export Model that came in complete. Any Clues?

Hi Maurice,

I still need to do a lot more research, but I can confirm that we have 50 cars in our archive and 7 are in NZ that are described as Clegg 12 (or 14hp in 1924 - the rated horsepower was always 13.9 throughout production). Cleggs were made from October 1911 to 1915, then the Factory was used for War production. Civilian car production resumed late in 1919 for the 1920 season and the cars were again made up to 1924.

Colonial models had larger wheels, stronger springs, a 4ft 8.5 inch track, and later a 4 speed gearbox. I suspect they were shipped in complete, but production records were destroyed by enemy action in the devastating air raid on Coventry in 1940, so how many were made in each year can only be a guess.

I have checked the most likely supplier of wiring looms in the UK and they do not have looms for Cleggs listed. Another UK supplier has a polypropylene braided sleeving see https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/ ... ategory/66

Thank you for the information I will follow up the wiring loom suppliers.

Is it possible to obtain a list of the owners and models of the 7-10 colonial cars believed to be in aus or nz.

I saw recently the attached article which was for sale and withdrawn (in aus) and I now understand it has been sold along with a lot of parts which have gone to Germany! The actual question I have for you is if the clegg colonial design was on made from 1920-24 how is it they list it as a 1925 model with the petrol tank in front of the windscreen whereas the car I am currently restoring (fully original as far as I can gather) has the petrol tank mounted at rear between the wheels. (You will see from the photo I have also attached the front cowling is obviously a later design. Under separate reply I will attach a photo of the veichle described above colour red and also a photo of the front view of my veichle along with engine number, car number etc.
