Jason,

Thanks for the pictures. What a cracking car you have there! Rover have always been recognised for making innovative and dependable cars but the fun and sportiness many models possess is frequently overlooked. Your Nizam is a great reminder of that other side of the marque and one we should celebrate more. I’ve loved Rovers all my life but was unaware of Nizams until you began posting on this site. More updates and pictures as you progress with your car would be most welcome.

Tony.

Thanks for the kind words. I’ve cleaned and repacked the water pump have the plugs cleaned up and new battery. Next is the carb then some new points and I’ll give it a shot firing it up. I’ll move out of new member forum for new posts

Jason,

Excellent, well done! You must update us after the weekend and let us know how it goes. Your Nizam looks relatively lightweight so it should go quite well I’d have thought- for a 1930s car that is!

I know my cars are 5 years newer, but the design is the follow on from yours I think. It always surprises me how well they keep up with modern traffic and have a sprightly turn of speed when required. Not that speed is the fun with these old cars but one doesn’t want to be a hazard on the road. It is very satisfying to judge the gearchanges correctly through the crash gearbox and anticipate the traffic to manoeuvre about safely. Even with the aid of flashing indicators, other drivers often seem oblivious to what you are doing and hand signals are not always familiar to some so driving is a challenge at times!

It will be interesting to see how you get on. I doubt you will return without a grin on your face.

Tony.

Great fun today! Didn’t travel too far as it was 94 degrees. That’s 34 c for you folks. It did pretty well. Lots of puzzled looks for sure! Have a great weekend
