Rover Sports Register Forum

Hi all

I have just joined the forum even though I have been drawn to Rovers for pretty much all of my life.
Cars I have owned range from P5b's to 800's and pretty much all Rovers in between.

My current project is my 1985 Zircon Blue 2300s SD1 auto.


The car was given to me around 2 years ago as its previous owner couldn't continue work on it due to health issues.
My plan is this year will see my SD1 with a new window screen and an MOT then sort paint and panel.
It is a very solid base and luckily for me came with a massive amount of spares when I was given it.

I am also in the process of rebuilding a spare cam carrier/head and sorting out the dreaded shims .

Hi Dale, welcome to the Forum. Great to see the car. Regular oil changes are key to preserving the SD1 6 cylinder cars that use a ball bearing restrictor in an oilway. I used Wynns detergent (now called Motor cleaner) before each oil change to ensure that the dreaded black gunge was eliminated.
