Hello All,
I’ve recently joined the RSR as I have taken over ownership of my late father’s 1947 Rover 12.
My father came from a family of 3 brothers who each owned many Rovers over the years.
Sadly not many of the cars seem to have survived.

The 12 hadn’t been run for over 35 years but was relatively easy to get it running, just requiring the basic checks. I’m currently deciding where to start with the restoration and trying to sort out boxes of spare engine parts in various states of decay. The rods and mains have been re-metalled but not machined, I found the receipt for the Hoyts material from 1964! I’d like to re-build the spare engine as boxes of engine parts don’t do well over time. I’d be interested to hear if anyone has a fairly recent experience of getting the necessary machining done? (Cyl bores/crank grind/Line bore and big ends re-sized.

Thanks Mark W
