Coventry Transport Museum - store open day

Post by lakesrally » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:17 pm

Coventry Transport Museum are opening the doors of their storeroom to visitors on 12th May. Storeroom is an understatement, it's more like an aircraft hanger. Whereas entry to the museum is free, they are making a small charge (not disclosed yet) for this visit, presently details are at http://www.transport-museum.com/modules ... &learning= It is well worth a visit, there are a number of interesting Rovers in there that you will not normally see, along with losts of other vehicles.

I went to this event, well worth the three pounds entry fee. Due to the large amount of visitors the museum were a little reluctant to let us open doors and bonnets etc. as it would have resulted in a free-for-all but it was still a good day. There must have been over 100 vehicles in there, including examples of P2, P3, P4, 16/50 and a Clegg 12. These open days may become an occasional feature, I recommend anyone else to give it a try next time.
