Photos from the Restoration Show NEC March

Post by paul williams » Wed Apr 08, 2015 12:37 pm

The RSR was at the Practical Classics Restoration show at the NEC Birmingham this March and displayed a variety of vehicles in varying states. We had Derek Spooner's delightful series 1 StationWagon having a brake refurb and and adjustment prior to an overseas trip and Mark Gray was changing the clutch on his P6. Pre-war cars are not forgotten, Chris Cartmel's P2 has the sunroof removed to investigate the weatherproofing.
All the cars drove to the show and had to be made ready to drive away again Sunday Evening.

This is Alan Buttle's immaculate P3 75

A closer view of the Practical Classic's P6 that we were happy to display on the RSR stand.

The RSR was also proud to show the early Rover heriatge with these two two-wheeled vehicles. The bicycle may have been one of the bikes used in the 1908 Olympic races

Edd China from the TV programme 'Wheeler Dealers' paid us a visit and is seen here with Mike Maher the RSR chairman and Maria Gray who was this time in front of the camera, having been the photographer for all the other pictures in this post.

The SD1 belongs to Guy Worral and is a very nice example of the rare V8-S variant.

Mark was still working on the clutch as it was getting near to the end of the show, but he was able to complete the job and drive home.

Mike Brewer the other half of the 'Wheeler Dealer' team also stopped by, and is seen here explaining exactly how much clutch free play there is.

One of the reasons the clutch took so long, Mark was always ready for a chat, here Guy and Mike discuss the finer points of classic cars.

The RSR would like to thank everyone who came and said hello to us during the show and also those people who stopped by to help out, especial thanks go to the motley crew shown here who gave up their weekend to be there.
