Precisely. Whitewall tyres may well suit some flamboyant American automobile designs, but offer nothing appropriate to add to the appearance of a classic Rover, an icon of British middle-class respectability. The Rover Company, reflecting the tastes of most of its customers, always avoided anything considered remotely "flashy" in its product specifications.

The answer to the question you asked is that 195/75x16 whitewall crossplies are not made. There may, however, be a radial wsw in that size out there. Mike, our chairman, suggested that in view of that you might consider painting in your own sidewalls on standard tyres, for which task there are some very good kits available online.
The 2 remaining responses were comments on the undesirability of whitewalls on classic Rovers, a perfectly legitimate point of view, intended as advice to someone obviously thinking about fitting them.

Thank you dhbucnanan for your advice, the reason i asked as the vehicle has wsw tyres on it at present but they are radial L/truck (8) ply and are too rigid and i was going to replace them with a softer tyre.thanks again Derrick.Smith
