Hi
Would any one be able to advise on a minor electrical Issue? My 1937 Rover 10 (Jenny) appears I think, to be suffering from a regulator issue in so much as it now takes around 40seconds or so for the ignition light to go out. On starting from cold (normally a week or but starts on the button) the ignition light remains on regardless of revs, gets brighter and eventually goes out during which time the ammeter does not move. After this it is fine and shows no issues and charging appears to be occurring; battry is fine and belt is tight etc.
Would the coil be going week or is there a maintenance regime on the regulator that needs to be completed??
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Ian P

Re: Possible regulator Issues
The regulator points may need cleaning - cardboard with a little alcohol on it is best. Are there signs of oxidation on the points? It's well worth cleaning all the connections

Hi
Thanks for your response.
All cleaned up and reset the contact gap. All working fine.
Do you think the issue would have damaged the coil at all??
Your help is appreciated.
