Oil pressure - 1939 Fourteen 6 cylinder
Having cleaned the sump and refilled with high zinc 20/50 my oil pressure is 40psi cold idle, 30 psi hot idle and 40psi at 50mph. Does that sound ok?

Re: How remove fuel sender - bolts are stuck
I've tried every releasing spray over the years and by far the best which seems to work where others fail is this, https://www.lubricantsuppliers.com/product/bdx-01-bulldog-bdx/ It's expensive but worth it in my opinion. Soak it a few times over a couple of days. WD40 isn't designed as a releasing a...

Re: Sump removal
In the end I had to go neanderthal with a Stilson. I'll get a new one at some point but for now tapped a socket on for reassembly. The mesh was clean and not much sludge in the sump. Has anyone fitted an external full-flow oil filter? I have one on my 1928 Alvis and it is comforting when the cost of...

Sump removal
I'm taking the sump off my 1939 Fourteen to give it a clean out and the filter cover has been royally mullered in the past by ham-fisted mechanics and no socket properly fits. Is it possible to remove the sump without removing the filter cover and filter first? It'll be easier to get the cover off w...

Re: P2 14 questions
Thanks. I'll see if my local exhaust fabricator will do it first. They make all sorts from scratch, mild or stainless. The last time I was there a Lamborghini was having some fancy back boxes fitted that they had made yet they were happy to make a silencer for my 1967 Austin 1100 in stainless. A dec...

Re: P2 14 questions
Thanks. I've ordered the bits from Meteor Spares, I'll see what arrives. I was thinking or the rear passenger side beneath the seat front for a switch.

Re: P2 14 questions
Thanks for the offer. I've been laid up with a bad shoulder but getting better now so will hopefully be back in harness this week. I'm still not sure of the thread, other than they're 28tpi (I think). But they go into where the Luvax fittings were so your spare ones should fit. Only one missing but ...

Re: P2 14 questions
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have considered reinstating the Luvax system, most of it seems to still be there, I wonder why it was disconnected? Leaks presumably. For now I'll keep it as it is as there is enough to do already. A new loom for example, are they available anywhere? If nobody makes an e...

P2 14 questions
I've not long bought my 1939 P2 14 and just joined the RSR so I'm on a steep learning curve. Please forgive loads of questions! My car has the Luvax chassis lubrication system disconnected and grease nipples fitted. A couple are missing, does anyone know what thread they are please? Also I need a fu...
