Re: Starting Problems
SHyslop, to answer your questions: 1) I had previously checked the carburettor and all seemed to be OK with the operation of the piston, so I don't think it is that; but worth another check. When I was checking the mixture setting the piston was falling back OK and no catching anywhere. 2) As for st...

Re: Starting Problems
The AC Type T Fuel Pump has been rebuilt with an ethanol resistant diaphram and fitted. She now starts up fine and runs well, but when I take her out for a test drive she is still under powered, pops and bangs but will occasionally run OK but then back to below par again. Having done everything on t...

Re: Starting Problems
Thanks for all the responses and having blown through the fuel lines and checked the carb it turns out it must be the fuel pump. So now I am awaiting delivery of a repair kit for the AC Type T pump. That will then hopefully cure the problem as she starts with the float bowl full, so everything from ...

Re: Starting Problems
OK, the problem seems to have solved itself after establishing that it was lack of fuel feed from the tank as the car started and ran OK with the float bowl filled, but the fuel pump was still dry. So having worked back to where the rubber fuel pipe connected to the metal feed line, I blew through t...

Starting Problems
On a recent trip out our 1937 Rover 12 Sports Saloon played up a little on the way back, coughing and spluttering and down on power, so we had to stop a few times to try and diagnose the problem, but to no avail. However, she did eventually clear herself and we made it back OK. I suspected it may be...

Re: 1937 Rover 12 Sports Saloon Sliding Sunroof Removal
The photos help a lot, much appreciated. The fixing holes on my car are on the front edge and on the sides. So I can see the benefit of having a rubber seal on the front edge but am surprised if a) it would fit on the sides and b) whether it would be more of a hinderance than a help. I think I'll lo...

Re: 1937 Rover 12 Sports Saloon Sliding Sunroof Removal
With the sunroof open and viewed from the top I can see a series of fixing holes around the perimeter, so am I missing a seal or something?

Re: 1937 Rover 12 Sports Saloon Sliding Sunroof Removal
Many thanks SHyslop for the pictures and the text. I am currently trying a repair to the very slight tear in the corner on the leading edge of the fixed roof section using a leather sealant/filler, which I am hopefull will do the job. But ideally I would like to glue the underside of the overlap (if...
