Re: Speed 14 engine reconditioning
Did you find STD pistons? I can't help, all my sets are oversizes. However, there should be some about. You have tried Thorntons? Do JP (Australia) make them? You must use the 7764 pistons with your original rods, or, if you can find a set of rods from a 1937/8 14 engine then you can use the 5/8" gu...

Engine oil choice
I've been advised there are two types of so-called 'classic' oils, that with detergant, and that without. Note that not all companies may offer this choice, but Millers Oils do. The theory is that their 'classic' oil has detergant which keeps contaminents in suspension until the oil goes through a m...

I have replied to your 16/50 enquiry yet can't see it here. I have also messaged you directly and put you in contact with local (Australian) 16/50 experts. Can you please confirm that you have received messages from me.

Looks like ordinary 'Furflex' to me. Also used around the windscreen on later P2s at least.

Re: 1925 14/45 or 16/50 water pump and fan hub strip down.
The 16/50 and 14/45 are quite rare. There are 4 in Australia, 2 in NZ, 2 in USA and 4 in the UK. I've not seen the Catford car in the flesh but have seen photos and received reports of it. I understand there is a considerable amount of spares with the car including a poor chassis frame and axles. As...

John
Apologies for not replying before, I very rarely go on the RSR forum. Can I sugest you email me directly at p2roverman@gmail.com or p2roverman@uwclub.net. I have a fairly extensive range of 9/20 literature but only a very limited number of parts.

Re: 1940 Rover 20 Tickford Drophead on ebay
Having just seen Luli's photos, I was pleased to see the original car/chassis number plate still on the bulkhead. How this now equates with the later chassis number I understand the car to now be registered under I don't know, but at least the proof of what the car actually is still exists on it.

Re: 1940 Rover 20 Tickford Drophead on ebay
Further to my earlier post, Feb 2013, I can add one more unfortunate occurance that has happened to this Rover. As most of you will know, only three 20hp drop heads were made to the 1940 specification before the war stopped production. This was the third, chassis no 0540003. As mentioned, I had to s...

Re: Streamline wings
Dirk Just taken some stuff for grit blasting including three of the streamline rear wings. While they look like standarrd P2 rear wings the construction is different. On P2 wings the edge of the raised 1/2" edge strip is swaged around a wire stiffener. The edge of the streamline wing is just folded ...

Also know of an apparently sound Clegg 12 chassis frame and front axle in souuth island which may be available. Probably an export model, but didn't check.
