2 litre 4 cylinder models are much more reliable than the smaller engined cars. The 1.1, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 engines are the Rover K series and are very prone to headgasket failures. The 220, 420, 620 turbo and 820 are all powered by the 2 litre Rover T series engine and this is pretty much bombproof....
