Re: P3 Chassis repairs
Hi Mike Apologies, I don't seem to get email notifications of replies to posts I'm interested in. I can't honestly remember who I got them from. It's quite a while since. I'm sure I found out about the (limited) production run through Freewheel. I do remember driving to somewhere in the Midlands to ...

P3 Chassis repairs
Hi Folks Does anyone have a copy of the instructions that were developed to go along with the new chassis repair parts that were produced for the P3 about 2003/4? I seem to have misplaced mine  and one way, or another, they look like being needed to get the old girl sorted out by whoever takes...

Re: Starter Motor
Quick update I found a (not very good) exploded diagram in an old Lucas document. As I suspected the 'anti-rattle' spring was missing. Fashioned a passable replacement from an old brake cylinder spring and, with a bit of shimming, got a result in that the starter always engages. There is still somet...

Starter Motor
Hi Does anyone have an assembly diagram for the starter motor on a P3? Mine is marked up 'LUCAS M418G G76' I can find lots of info on the type that throw the pinion 'forwards' ie, towards the front of the car but nothing useful for my type which throws the pinion backwards. Mine works fine most of t...

Re: Good home for a P3 75
It's going to be a very sad goodbye to my 1948 P3 75 Sports. It needs work and I am simply not in a position to do it. It has been sitting in my garage, warm and dry for the last 8 years and was filled with clean oil before storage. It is a runner but not road legal at the moment, having failed the ...
